Baltimmersion: The Urban Project
Baltimmersion: The Urban Project is a weekend urban service immersion trip. The experience offers an opportunity for students to gain greater insight into the realities and concerns of people who are materially poor or experiencing homelessness in Baltimore. The weekend includes an experience of direct service in a meal program, factual information on poverty and homelessness, opportunities for casual, one-on-one interaction with people who are materially poor or experiencing homelessness, and time for reflection, discussion and activities. The weekend also includes opportunity for shared prayer in retreat-style format, and the experience provides intentional connections between Catholic Social Teaching and Calvert Hall’s Lasallian Education. Baltimmersion will take place March 18th – 20th at Beans and Bread in downtown Baltimore.
