Prayers

Opening of the School Day

Lord,
Please forgive us for all the wrong that we do. Help us to live according to Your will and not our own. Be with us in the storms of life, also when the sun is shining. Continue to remind us of Your commandments. Help us to be with You and not against You. Help us to humble ourselves so that you can lift us up.
We pray that you would reveal Yourself to us daily so that our faith can grow. Father God, we need You, please let us know that You are near. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Kevin Adjei '11 (St. Raymond’s High School, Bronx, NY)

Monday

Lord,
Let us be filled with your joy for we aren't perfect. Humble us with your spirit and release us from the jealousy given to us by the enemy. Help us fulfill your goal of peace. Help us be patient for we all need to be cleansed. Lord, give us your love and let us come before our Heavenly Father for we cannot live without you in our presence. Amen.
Emmanuel Rivera '11 (St. Raymond’s High School, Bronx, NY)

Tuesday

God,
The Maker of all that is seen and unseen, most of the time we have no capacity to forgive our fellow human beings for the atrocities they commit towards us. Please give us the strength and heart to do your will, by helping us serve and forgive our brothers and sister for the sins they commit against us. O True God, the Savior of the Children of Israel and the world, please help us see and understand what your will wants from us. Please help us love our neighbors to the fullest of our potential, and enable us with the purity and might to serve our brothers and sisters with wholeheartedness. You sent your Son to show us the path to forgiving and serving. Please live in our hearts all the time so that we can forgive and forget our fellow human being's cruelty and inhumane acts against us. Amen.
Jeswin Joy '11 (St. Raymond’s High School, Bronx, NY)

Wednesday

Heavenly Father,
Your will and desire for us is gracious and good. I praise you and thank you for your guidance and words of wisdom. You know our desire is to do right, yet often we do that which is wrong. Give us strength when we are tempted and forgive us when we fail. Merciful and loving God, help us remain steadfast and spread your holy commandments and to live forever in your holy presence. Amen.
Brian Curran '11 (St. Raymond’s High School, Bronx, NY)

Thursday

Dear Lord,
We ask of you this day to drive out the demons of this world. Let us not fall prey to the sins of man and the influences of Satan. Though his presence in this world is evident, he is divided among himself. If a kingdom among itself is divided then it shall be laid to waste, although your kingdom of heaven shall stand eternally for it is united. Let us not take unholy pride in our possessions for they are relative. Though a strong man may guard his possessions, it only takes a stronger man to overcome him and distribute his spoils. Oh Lord, it is by your grace the demons of this world are driven out and thus we humble ourselves in your presence for you lead the way to the kingdom of heaven. Amen.
Alex Luciano '11 (St. Raymond’s High School, Bronx, NY)

Friday

Lord,
Help those who are blinded by the truth. Help them to understand that loving you, with all their strength and all their hearts is the way to salvation. Help them to understand that loving their neighbors and respecting them as they would do to themselves will make this world a better place. Help them to understand that the reason for all warfare and devastation is the lack of love and acknowledgement towards you and each other. Because you are our Savior, you protect us from every sin and every evil, every harm and every danger. Your love for us is beyond believing, it is because we are your children, your reason for caring so much. We must show that we care as well by being Christ-like, believing that to love your neighbor as yourself is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices. I pray that you will keep your holy angels around us so that the evil foe may have no power over us until the day comes where we as a family, meet you; our Father, and walk together in your kingdom. Amen.
