Br. Patrick Dowd, FSC

Br. Patrick was born in Manhattan. He attended high school in Barrytown and completed his graduate studies at the Catholic University in D.C. Br. Patrick taught physics and electronics in several schools and served as principal in Lasallian schools in New York and New Jersey. He always had an interest in technology especially if it was associated with the radio and television. This interest led Brother Patrick to establish the largest and most comprehensive vacuum tube collection in existence, which is on permanent exhibit in Manhattan College's Leo Engineering Building. In 1988, Br. Patrick received an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from Manhattan College for his vacuum tube collection.
