“There is an urgency today to set on fire the Lasallian Catholic evangelical mission within each of our educational communities to do as Jesus did by joyfully announcing the radical Good News that God loves us all and calls us to cooperate in building God’s Kingdom.”
— Directional Statement, Evangelization and Catechesis, Mission Assembly 2015

“As Lasallian Catholic Communities we must engage young people in a process of coming to know the mystery and purpose of their lives.  For all young people we will offer opportunities for faith formation and development so that they will seek to discover and develop a personal relationship with God in the context of a faith community.  For those who are Catholic the educational community will offer opportunities to grow in the fullness of their Catholic faith.”
— Action Item, Evangelization and Catechesis, DENA Mission Assembly 2015

CRS-DENA-global-logoDistrict of Eastern North America (DENA) and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) — Partners in the Global High School Initiative.

We are pleased to invite you–your students and your education community–with the opportunity to engage through the mission of DENA and CRS responding to issues of education, poverty, disease, violence and injustice.

At the core of this partnership is the infusion of the Lasallian mission into the CRS Global High School program, which strengthens the Catholic identity of Catholic high schools in the United States, encourages high school students into active global citizenship and engages the entire school community in the mission of Catholic social teaching.

As Lasallian Catholic schools we form disciples–not just learners.

This distinction denotes the centrality of Jesus Christ in the work and mission of Catholic schools. This mission acknowledges that we areall called by our Baptism to serve the most vulnerable and uphold the human dignity of all people. By embracing Catholic social teaching, we prepare students to be missionaries of our faith to the world.

Congratulations to the following DENA Schools who have applied to DENA and CRS for 2015-2016 Global High School recognition!
