About the School
Bishop Ndingi Skills Training Centre, known as Mwangaza (Kiswahili word meaning ‘Light”) College was established by the Nakuru Catholic Diocese in 1992. Administered by the Christian Brothers, the college meets a dire need in the city of Nakuru. Many of the Mwangaza students have graduated from secondary school and are children of non-farming residents who depend on low-paying jobs in the local business sector for their livelihood. Since they do not have land, the opportunities of their children are limited to whatever jobs they can procure in Nakuru. Mwangaza College provides its students with an opportunity to gain knowledge and valuable practical skills. Many have succeeded in gaining employment and many more have established their own business.
