The Brother Visitor, sometimes known as the Provincial, is the guarantor of the unity and vitality of the District, the leader of the District, and director of its administrative team. Appointed by the Superior General of the Brothers’ Institute, in Rome, Brother Visitor exercises his authority as a major superior according to Canon Law and the law of the Institute and in accordance with directives from the District Chapter.
Visitor – Brother Dennis Malloy, FSC
In March of 2009, Br. Alvaro Rodriguez Echeverria, Superior General, appointed Br. Dennis Malloy the inaugural Visitor of the District of Eastern North America. In April of 2013, Br. Dennis was appointed to a second term. Br. Robert Schieler, FSC, the General Councilor for the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) confirmed the Visitor’s re-election to the position.

As part of the Visitor selection process, the Districts’ Brothers sent a final round of sealed nominating ballots to Rome, where the General Council opened and reviewed these nominations. With these ballots, and the advisement of the General Council, the Superior General, Br. Alvaro Rodriguez Echeverria, FSC, officially appointed the Visitor; in this case confirming the DENA Brothers’ votes, and re-electing Br. Dennis Malloy.
Prior to being Visitor, Br. Dennis was Visitor for the Legacy Baltimore District, and spent almost 30 years serving at-risk youth and families in various positions in the Saint Gabriel’s System.
