Four Brothers Robed at Ammendale
On December 7, 1938, four young men entered the institute at Ammendale and received their robes and religious names. Many Brothers would recognize the names of two of them, Br. Florus Bernardin (Prior) and Br. Finian Albert (Robert Wise).

Judge John Brady AFSC
Judge John J. Brady, a student of the Brothers at CBA (Albany) and Manhattan College and an exemplary man of principle, was granted letters of affiliation (honorary membership) in the Christian Brothers.

Brother Robed During Christmas
At Christmas 1888, Br. Crispian received the robe at the Amawalk (NY) Novitiate, and he is celebrating his golden jubilee 50 years later. Br. Crispian spent most of his tour of duty working for the underprivileged boys in Utica, Albany, and Troy.

Toronto Brother Dies
Br. Maxentius Martyr (Laberge) died in late 1938 in Montreal. He labored many years in Ontario and was a standout teacher of art and of practical science in Toronto. Br. Maxentius was chosen to help develop the Ontario exhibit at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.

Quebec Provincial Dies
Br. Germaine (Ouellet), provincial of the Quebec District, died at the age of 51 while visiting the Brothers’ community and college at Riviere du Loup. A true scientist, his butterfly collection was said to be the finest in Quebec Province.

50 Years for Br. Bajulus Thomas
Br. Bajulus Thomas observes his 50th jubilee. For over 35 of these years he has labored as prefect and as superintendent of buildings at Clason Point Military Academy which evolved into La Salle Military Academy.

On February 1, 1939, three young men received their robe and religious names at Barrytown as they entered the New York District of the institute.
