On Wednesday, February 4 (after a delay of a week because of the snow) the La Salle Academy educational community celebrated Founder’s Day—a day to recognize teachers and all staff who are engaged in the Lasallian Mission and to celebrate the naming of Gregory Albanese, a member of the Religion Department, as La Salle Academy’s Distinguished Lasallian Educator for 2014-2015.
Faculty and staff were greeted as they arrived by members of the Lasallian Ministry Team who presented them with a token of appreciation for their commitment to the Lasallian Mission. During the day they feasted on some delicious bakery delicacies provided by the Student Council. At the end of the school day faculty was engaged in the various Lasallian Formation Programs offered, followed by the festivities honoring their colleague.
Gregory Albanese was first recognized in a special prayer offered for and about him at the school-wide morning prayer. In each of his classes Brother Frederick Mueller, Chairperson of the Lasallian Ministry Team, presented the Distinguished Lasallian Educator award to him. At the end of the day faculty gathered in the Chapel for the formal presentation of the award. Then they went to the Alumni Center for refreshments.
