Misunderstanding is the mother of fear and mistrust.  With that in mind, it is important that Christians and others gain a better, more accurate understanding of the Islamic faith.  These four sessions will introduce participants to Islamic beliefs and practices, including the Four Pillars of Islam, the Qur’an and the Hadith, Islamic holy days, holy sites, and festivals, even Islamic burial customs.  There will also be a discussion of that American phenomenon known as the “Nation of Islam.”  Participants will be provided with handouts to print and read, as well as links to worthwhile online videos to view.

Presenter: Ed Sirois, Religion teacher, La Salle Academy, Providence, RI
