VEGA One of the brightest stars in the night sky. An Italian acronym for the words Vedere, Giudicare, Agire meaning See, Judge, Act.

We regret to inform you that the scheduled online-VEGA sessions have been postponed. While disappointing, we want to ensure our participants have the most enriching formation and association experience possible and will reschedule when the timing is best. We hope to see you for our next in-person VEGA, Summer of 2022.

We hope you take this opportunity to rest and recharge, and thank you for your extraordinary commitment to the Lasallian educational mission, especially during these challenging times. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

In Association,

Justin Martineau

A formation program for Young Lasallian professionals ages 22-35.

Wednesday & Thursday
July 28 – 29, 2021

This is a no-cost virtual event underwritten by DENA’s Office for Mission & Ministry.

The VEGA conference is an exciting gateway experience to becoming further committed as a Young Lasallian. VEGA aims to foster association for mission, as well as providing a space for young Lasallian educators to capture a sense of what it will take to keep Lasallian education in the 21st century vital and vibrant. Utilizing the tools we have all come to be proficient in over the past year, the DENA Young Lasallian Professionals Council and the DENA Office for Mission and Ministry invite you to join us for a virtual gathering beginning with an evening of introductions and a one-day online community building, prayer, and formation experience. We hope you can join us!

*This abridged, virtual conference does not, nor does it intend to, replace the week-long in-person event planned for next year. Instead, this is a chance to (re)connect and explore our shared mission on Wednesday-Thursday, July 28-29, 2021.

What is VEGA?

In response to the call of the Christian Brothers, and of its Superior General, Br. Alvaro Rodriguez Echeverria, FSC, to provide educative and formative experiences for Lasallian educators between 22 and 35 years old, the Young Lasallians VEGA Workshop was created. This workshop further engages and encourages these young educators to be more deeply involved with Brothers’ mission of “a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.”

First held in the Christian Brothers’ Region of Europe and the Mediterranean (RELEM) in 2009 at the Generlate in Rome, and then in the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) in 2010 at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, this DENA VEGA program will be the 4th VEGA as it continues to keep the enthusiastic energy of Lasallian education growing and going.

The Young Lasallians VEGA Workshop will not only educate, but will also invite Lasallian educators to take a deeper look at their vocations as teachers. It further asks them to discuss and work toward what it will take to keep Lasallian education in the 21st century vital and vibrant. Participants will be asked to take a deeper look at the roots of poverty in order to find structural solutions and for educating to justice.
