A Message from the Visitor

August 2025

Dear Lasallian Friends,

As we begin to see a new school year on the horizon, I write with both gratitude and admiration for a remarkable colleague and faithful steward of our Mission. After ten years of outstanding service, Patrick Donahue, our Director of Advancement, will retire from his position with the District of Eastern North America. His impact, however, will endure far beyond his final day in office.

Patrick’s decade-long tenure has been distinguished not only by professional excellence, but by a profound and personal commitment to the Lasallian mission of providing a human and Christian education to young people, especially the poor. Over his years of service, Patrick sought not merely to raise funds, but to strengthen relationships between donors and our ministries, our alumni and their shared legacy, and most especially, between people and the transformative power of Lasallian education.

Through his participation in Lasallian formation programs and retreats, Patrick developed a deep appreciation for the charism of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and the Brothers of the Christian Schools. His professional career has always been more than a job. It has been a vocation, animated by a sense of purpose and fidelity to the values of our Catholic faith. Patrick’s entire professional career has been in Church-related ministry, a significant accomplishment.

Under his leadership, our advancement efforts have grown in a very positive direction. All the while, Patrick has reminded us that generosity is not measured only in dollars, but in a shared spirit of faith and zeal to meet the challenges of today. As he begins this next chapter, we offer him our thanks, our prayers, and our deep appreciation for all he has given to our shared work.

Live Jesus in our hearts,
