An annual program that invites high school students and undergraduates to explore the vocation of teaching and form a new generation of educators committed to the Lasallian mission.
The Adrien Nyel Institute (ANI) is a dynamic program that seeks to accompany secondary school students and undergraduates who desire to earnestly explore the vocation to teach. The Institute aims to cultivate a new generation of faith-filled, dedicated teachers in the spirit of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of teachers, who will transform lives and build a more fraternal world through education and the promotion of justice, peace, and integrity of creation.
Attentive to the current moment in the field of education, the ANI offers participants an engaging experience with engaging presenters and wide range of activities about what it means to be a teacher in a variety of educational settings, but especially, in a Catholic school. Based currently at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., the ANI schedule provides time for field experiences to different cultural, civic, and religious sites in the nation’s capital.
This year’s ANI will take place on June 21 – 25, 2026, at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. Eligible applicants include rising high school juniors and seniors, graduating high school seniors, and undergraduates who are discerning a call to teach..
