Winter Men’s Retreat gathers educators and partners for weekend of prayer and fraternity

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. — Participants gathered at the Immaculate Conception Retreat Center in Huntington, NY for the Winter Men’s Retreat, joined by Lasallian educators, discerners, and partners from the Seton Teaching Fellows. Hosted by the Office of Vocation Ministry from January 30 to February 1, the weekend offered a dedicated space for prayer, silence, and community.

Designed intentionally as a retreat rather than a workshop, the experience encouraged participants to step away from daily responsibilities and enter a slower rhythm centered on reflection and shared faith. The schedule balanced guided sessions, small group dialogue, and extended time in the chapel, allowing men to reconnect with what grounds their personal and professional lives.

Participants came from a range of ministries and communities, yet quickly formed a sense of fraternity rooted in prayer. Many described the weekend as a rare opportunity to slow down, listen deeply, and build trust with other men seeking the same purpose.

The collective presence of educators, discerners, and formation partners highlighted a shared commitment to supporting men who serve young people and communities. The retreat continues to grow each year, reflecting a strong desire for spaces where men can pray together, strengthen one another, and return home renewed.
